The Fear of the Lord

Dear Judah and my future Grandchildren,

There are many things that I pray for you and want for you and hope for you.  First know this, that your grandma and I love you more than you can imagine at this point.  Second know this, that our love, or the love of your parents, is quite small as compared to God’s love for you.  God has a wonderful life already mapped out for you in His glorious plan, full of adventure, love, excitement, and also pain and suffering.  All of it is for His glory which is also your good.  The first thing you need to understand in order to take hold of God’s plan for you is:

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,

    and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.

Prov 9:10

There is so much in that verse that we could spend eternity exploring it.  What I want you to take from it now is that understanding that God exists and that He is holy, right and good in all that He does is the foundation of understanding anything.  I do mean anything.  Since God made everything, He understands and upholds everything.  There is nothing outside the knowledge or power of God.  It is this good and all powerful God that loves you beyond your imagination.
