Just Trust Him

Dear Judah and my future grandchildren,

We think so little of our sin because we understand so little of God’s perfection.  He created a world where everything is exactly as it should be and that everything is perfectly good, wonderful, and all the other noble attributes.  A person couldn’t even have a bad thought in that creation.  Everything was in harmony with everything else and with God.  The joy and purpose of life would be incomprehensible to us today.  Yet one little decision, one little act of defiance by Adam crashed all of that.  That one small decision gave us a world that will forever be in ever deepening violence, hatred, perversion and all other evil attributes.  Perfection was balanced on a knife’s edge and humanity knocked it off and has not the ability to put it back on its perch.

One point of God’s law is to show us that we can never by our own effort repair that damage.  Any human effort to do so will only result in more damage.  God is the only one who can repair the damage.  That renewal was and will be accomplished in Christ.  Our job is simply to believe, obey and repent when we don’t.

Remember that God just wants you to believe Him.  And when you don’t He just wants you to repent and trust Him.

Never forget that,

Grandpa
