Praying Through the 10 Commandments: Don’t Misuse His Name

“You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.”

Lord,

I must admit that this is a command that I have long given too little regard. Lord, I do indeed, treat your name as meaningless, a simple label. Lord, I sin when I do. All of goodness and holiness is wrapped up in You, in your name. How can I think that your name is so little?

Lord teach me reverence. Build in me a desire to see your name glorified and held high throughout this earth.
